Balaji Baktha, President & CEO

Balaji Baktha is an experienced and proven executive that has initiated numerous semiconductor businesses and driven them through to significant revenue in a variety of high profile and competitive markets. At InSilica he has led the company to wins in key segments such as mobile phones, broadband wireless, HDTV, high end networking, VOIP, & Flat panel displays with the company shipping over 6 million units in the last year. Balaji came to InSilica from Marvell Semiconductor where he was the Vice President and General Manager of the Embedded and Emerging Business Unit where he launched multiple successful product lines and became Marvell's fastest growing division bringing in $100s of millions of revenue in new markets. Prior to this, Balaji served as Vice President of Marketing for Adaptec's Storage Networking Group coming to the company through their acquisition of Platys which he co-founded. Earlier, Balaji held various executive-level marketing and business development positions at SCM Micro Systems and Shuttle Technology where he was a co-founder.

Mustafiz Choudhury, Chief Development Officer

Mustafiz joined InSilica from Broadcom Corp. where he was responsible for the Carrier Access line of business. He became an employee of Broadcom through the acquisition of Silicon Spice where he led and managed the development of the Calisto family of products for Carrier class VoIP applications. Mustafiz spent 12 years at Intel Corp. where he designed the i486, Pentium processors and led or co-led the development of other Intel's flag ship products such the Pentium OverDrive and Pentium-II processors. When he left Intel, he was leading the design and development efforts of the first implementation of the IA64 processor (Merced). He holds several patents in the areas of bus and memory architecture as well as high performance processor design.

Sunil Baliga, Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Sunil joined InSilica from K-Micro (Kawasaki Microelectronics), where he was VP of Marketing and Business Development. During his almost 5-year tenure at K-Micro, Sunil helped them grow their revenues by over 150%. Prior to K-Micro, Sunil was in the programmable logic industry, where he held increasing positions of responsibility at Altera, Xilinx, and Actel. He also was elected twice by the membership of the Network Processing Forum (NPF) as the chair of its Marketing Working Group. Sunil has a B.S. Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a M.B.A. from Georgetown University. He also has studied International Business at Oxford University.

Stephen Noble, Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Marketing

Steve joined InSilica from Eastman Kodak, where during his 24 year tenure he held various management positions in R&D, Marketing, Product Management, and Business Development of digital imaging systems. Recently he was Development Manager for Kodak’s Digital Capture & Devices Group, and prior to that was Worldwide Marketing Manager for the Image Sensor Solutions Group. Steve’s involvement in digital camera design and development started in the early 1990’s, where he contributed greatly to the pioneering efforts Kodak made in the Professional DSC industry. From the R&D arena, he moved to Professional DSC Product Management, and then held positions managing Worldwide Business Development and Marketing in Kodak’s Image Sensor Group. Steve has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and holds 7 patents related to digital imaging.

David Lemberger, Corporate Controller & Senior Director of Finance

David joined InSilica from NewPath Ventures where he was Controller and Finance Director. David was responsible for implementing all accounting systems and controls for the venture fund and its entire portfolio of startup companies. Prior to joining NewPath, David was CFO at Nanomix, Inc. a nanotechnology startup and was instrumental in its efforts to raise $13.5 million in seed capital. Prior to that David was a financial consultant at webMethods, Inc. and was responsible for financial integration and reporting of four of its acquisitions. David is a licensed CPA with eleven years of prior public accounting experience.
