The IS-7xxx product family are SoC's for scalable and flexible state-of-the-art photo-printing solutions. With its dedicated Image Processing Engine, PictBridge support, adaptable print head interface, and extensive connectivity options, the IS-71xx provides a powerful highly-integrated solution, from camera and other digital photo sources to print.
The IS-7xxx product family's image processing pipeline allows it to deliver industry-leading performance, both in terms of print speed and image quality. The high level of functional integration minimizes overall printer controller costs.
IS-71xx product family integrates an image processing engine with a dedicated bus to guarantee uninterrupted data delivery to the print engine. Image functions include JPEG decode, color space conversion, and filtering. Images may be cropped, scaled, rotated, or mirrored as well.
The print engine interface is built on the VersaRISC controller, and supports both dye sublimation and inkjet engines. VersaRISC also supports all popular memory card formats and a flexible scanner interface, which works with any scanner technology, and can control motors or other hardware. The scanner is TWAIN compliant.
IS-71xx family essentially has ARM CPUs running at various speeds, with up to 512 MB of 16-bit DDR SDRAM and up to 32 MB of Flash. USB 2.0 Hi-Speed host and device interfaces give fast connectivity performance. IS-71xx has timers, GPIO, and an interrupt controller for implementing system functions. They also feature an LCD controller and video output.
IS-71xx high level of integration reduces component count in a typical photo printer or MFP implementation. PictBridge-enabled digital cameras connect to the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Host Interface and print photographs directly. This port also supports CD/DVD drives and USB flash drives. IS-71xx connects to PCs via an integrated USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Device Interface.
IS-71xx has intelligent, flexible print head interfaces built in. These connect to a variety of inkjet or thermal print heads and a CCD/CIS scanner. The firmware is fully customizable, guaranteeing that IS-71xx will fit market requirements in the coming years.
